Who We're Looking For
Desired Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, PR, Communications, Information Science, Business or related major
General Knowledge
- Fluent in English (written and verbal). Resume must be in English to be considered.
- Solid understanding of the Internet
- Solid understanding of basic copywriting
- Solid web copywriting skills
Qualities
- Demonstrates the ability to get things done
- Continues to follow up on content placement pitches that weren’t successful the first time
- Insatiable desire to learn
- Facebook account with over 100 friends (Only used to verify web understanding)
- Twitter account with over 50 followers (Only used to verify web understanding)
- Outstanding written communication skills
- Administrator/moderator of a forum or a blog (A bonus)
- “Power” Twitter, Reddit, HackerNews, etc account (Ex. Defined as 500+ followers) (A bonus)
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience as Social Media Specialist or Digital Marketer, or minimum of 2 years experience in the marketing industry
- Blogging experience (Desired)
- Basic HTML or image editing experience (Desired)
- Customer service experience in any industry (Desired)
What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Connect with clients on a regular basis to answer questions, apply strategies and review social media campaign performance (primary point of contact for your individual clients)
- Develop paid media (Ex. Hulu, Pandora, Spotify, Ad display networks)
- Research and create online “buyer personas”
- Create programs that leverage earned, owned and paid media elements
- Develop social media editorial calendars
- Research and pitch created content ideas to bloggers, publishers, and journalists
- Oversee development of creative/assets for social channels
- Ability to manage content creation workflow
- Provide social media consulting, monitoring, and management services
- Consult with clients about their business goals and propose solutions and strategies that meet their needs
- This position requires 40 hours of remote availability per week during our standard office hours (8am to 6pm EST)
- Requires reliable internet access
Percentage Breakdown
- 30% client interaction (phone calls, meetings, emails, etc.)
- 25% managing social media ad campaigns
- 15% reporting/analytics
- 10% client strategy
- 10% writing/calendar creation
- 5% social media design project management
- 5% competitor analysis
Compensation
Negotiable, based on experience
