Who We're Looking For
The right fit for this role
Desired Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in one of the following fields:
Requirements
- Computer Science
- Data Engineering
- Information Systems
- Mathematics
- Related technical discipline
- Expert knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) including advanced query optimization
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and understanding of when to apply each
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL pipeline design
- Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Supabase) and managed infrastructure
- Knowledge of database security best practices and HIPAA considerations for healthcare-adjacent data

- Analytical and systematic thinker who designs for scalability from day one
- Performance-optimization mindset — you measure everything and eliminate bottlenecks
- Security-conscious with a deep understanding of data protection principles
- Excellent documentation skills to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability
What You'll Do
Core responsibilities
- 01Design and implement database architectures for internal tools and client applications
- 02Optimize query performance and indexing strategies across all systems
- 03Create data models for internal applications, dashboards, and reporting tools
- 04Build ETL pipelines for analytics data aggregation and transformation
- 05Ensure database security and implement robust backup procedures
- 06Manage database migrations and versioning across environments
- 07Monitor database performance and system health proactively
- 08Design data structures for reporting dashboards and client analytics
- 09Implement caching strategies to improve application response times
- 10Document database schemas, procedures, and architectural decisions
- 11Advise the development team on data architecture decisions and best practices
- 12Ensure HIPAA-conscious data handling across all systems touching client information
